For example, you may be asked to write about the special characteristic of a certain book, or ways in which Stephen's death parallels that of Jesus. There will be questions about Paul's life, the arrangement of the New Testament, Revelation, etc.

Recommendations for Review

  1. Review the lecture outlines. Refer to PPTs. Pay attention to questions and main ideas.
  2. Understanding the general division of the books in the New Testament after the Gospels. What's the difference between the general epistles, the Pauline epistles, and the pastoral epistles? Which books belong to each?
  3. Review the book introductions
  4. Review the books themselves
  5. Know these books the best. What do we know about the author? Who is traditionally the author? What are some reasons for or against this?
  6. In what situations and for what purposes were they written?
  7. These are the books you should know something about, a major theme, or a chapter we read for class.

  11. What attitudes do the NT writers express about the OT, especially Mosaic law?
  12. What is faith? What are some different ideas that different writers have about it? (Paul, Hebrews, James)
  13. In what ways is Revelation a fitting ending for the Bible?
  14. How does Revelation draw from the Hebrew Scriptures?
  15. What are some of the possible interpretations for some of the symbolism in Revelation?
